— -- These days, Justin Bieber is trying to make more friends than enemies.

Lady Gaga, for one, can vouch for him.

"He really has a sweetness to him," the "Born This Way" singer wrote on Instagram, alongside a selfie of her and Bieber. "He grew up in front of the whole world. I reminded him to not get bothered. Because at the end of the day. He's the boss, and life isn't always Roses. Lots of thorns."

Earlier, Bieber posted the same pic, which was taken at Monday's Met Ball. "Me and the queen," he wrote.

The 21-year-old pop star has been making nice with a lot of folks these days, including his old pal Usher, with whom he posed at the Met Gala.

During Bieber's Comedy Central roast in March, the singer apologized for his previous bad behavior and promised to do better.

"There was really no preparing me for this life," he said. "I was thrown into this at 12 years old and didn't really know what I was getting into. There's been moments I'm really proud of, and moments I'm pretty disappointed in myself for."

The previous month, he told Ellen DeGeneres, "I'm passionate about being better and growing, so I think this is gonna be an awesome chapter in my life and I'm so glad to have you guys supporting me."
