— -- Childhood Halloween dreams came true this weekend in St. Helens, Oregon.

Marnie the witch from Disney Channel’s "Halloweentown" hosted a countdown to light the giant pumpkin in the town’s square.

Kimberly J. Brown, the actress who plays Marnie, also hosted a costume contest and book reading.

"Halloweentown" was filmed in St. Helens and the city has embraced the holiday with a big "Spirit of Halloweentown" festival each year, attracting lots of attention on social media.

Hundreds of friendly ghosts and goblins showed up to watch the witch illuminate the night.

There are "Halloweentown"-themed events happening at the iconic film location until Oct. 31, ranging from pumpkin carving contests to a Howl-oween 5K dog walk, Tarot card readings, tractor rides, costumed cocktail parties, and, of course, photo ops alongside a replica of Benny’s haunted cab.
