Meryl Streep and her daughter Mamie Gummer appeared in "Heartburn" together, and now, nearly 20 years later, they're co-starring in the upcoming movie "Ricki and the Flash."

Collaborating was a piece of cake, according to the Oscar winner.

“I’ve been working with my daughter for 32 years,” Streep told Women's Wear Daily. "I was blown away. I’m not objective — I think she’s fantastic. ... But I think other people have corroborated that.”

In the movie, Streep, 66, stars as a rocker who tries to be there for her adult daughter, played by Gummer, 32. And while Gummer added that she and mother are hardly their characters, their on-set dynamic "wasn't as strange as one would think."

"We were greatly aided by the fact that there were these indisputable traits that I’ve inherited," she noted. "There was a shorthand in terms of that."

Some of those traits are physical, too. Use the slider below to see how similar the two look.
