— -- Nine months after an emotional guest performance during the 2015 Superbowl, Missy Elliot has released a new music video for the first time in years.

Elliot released her new single, "WTF (Where They From)," earlier today, and fans are welcoming back the Grammy-winning artist with open arms.

Before dropping "WTF (Where They From)," Elliot's most recent music included two singles, "Triple Threat" and "9th Inning," that she recorded with Timbaland in 2012.

Elliot, 44, has been preparing her fans for her comeback on her social media pages, and yesterday the hip-hop artist posted a "first look" photo to her newly launched Instagram page from the "WTF (Where They From)" music video shoot.

"I can't wait for the whole world to see my new video tomorrow," Elliot captioned the photo. "9am we bout to take off to another planet...u ready? LETSGO! #WTFMissy #FirstLook."

"WTF (Where They From)" was produced by singer/songwriter Pharrell, who also has a verse on the track.

Elliot is currently working on her seventh studio album, her first since "The Cookbook" was released in 2005.
