'Rogue One: A Star Wars Story': New Trailer Debuts on 'GMA'

Darth Vader, Jyn Erso and more!

— -- We are just two months out from "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" hitting theaters around the globe.

But in the meantime, fans can get a new look at Darth Vader, Jyn Erso and more in the latest trailer that just aired on ABC News' "Good Morning America."

"Star Wars" fans know the general idea -- "Rogue One" is a standalone film, set just before "A New Hope," released in 1977. It will feature a new band of rebels that come together to steal the plans for the Death Star.

Darth Vader is back because of the time setting for this film (After Episode III, but before IV), but there are also new, exciting characters like Alan Tudyk's K-2SO and Donnie Yen's Chirrut.

Erso, played by Oscar nominee Felicity Jones, must lead her group to steal the coveted plans, which eventually help Luke Skywalker and others take down the Death Star and eventually the Empire.

Here are some past clips to go along with the new footage.

"Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" will hit theaters Dec. 16.
