Ryan Gosling Defends Eva Mendes' Sweatpants Comment

— -- When Eva Mendes called sweatpants the "number one cause of divorce," a lot of people took offense.

Her partner, Ryan Gosling, is telling all of those people to relax.

"Obviously sweatpants thing was a joke. Wearing them now. That's right, tweeting in sweatpants. Rats! Said too much! You win again Twitter," he wrote.

Mendes, 41, and Gosling, 34, welcomed their daughter, Esmeralda, last September.

According to the actress, not only has the baby affected her sleep schedule, but also, she's given her a new appreciation for her own mother.

“Now I understand so much,” she recently told Extra. "My mother’s never gotten more 'I love you so much mommy' texts."
