Destiny's Child Leads Way for Inaugural BET Awards

Popular R&B trio Destiny's Child leads the pack at the first BET Awards, scoring nominations for Best Female Group, Video of the Year, and Viewers' Choice.

The two-hour awards ceremony is scheduled to be held June 19 at the Paris Hotel in Las Vegas and will be broadcast live on BET. Steve Harvey and Cedric the Entertainer will host the show, which will also give awards in movie and sports categories.

Rapper Snoop Dogg also landed three nominations — though two are shared with Dr. Dre and Nate Dogg, while several other musicians scored multiple nods, including Janet Jackson, rap duo Outkast, and newcomers Nelly, Jill Scott, and Musiq Soulchild.
