March 23 -- Keyboardist Quits London Suede

Keyboardist Neil Codling has decided "to make a clean break" from his band, the London Suede, due to an ongoing struggle with chronic fatigue syndrome, according to a representative from Columbia Records. Codling has been on and off with the band since falling ill and missing numerous shows on the band's 1999 European tour. His live replacement, friend of the band Alex Lee, will take on the keyboards full-time. The group has been writing material for a fifth album and will enter a studio in May to begin recording.

Nelly Fills Polly's Shoes

Canadian songstress Nelly Furtado will take the place of PJ Harvey as the opening act for two shows on U2's Elevation Tour 2001, according to the Toronto Star. Polly Jean Harvey was forced to drop out of four shows because of illness. Irish pop group The Corrs will fill the opening slot for the first two gigs, Saturday and Monday, while Furtado will perform March 29 and March 30. Furtado, who is on her first ever U.S. tour, won four awards earlier this month at Canada's Juno Awards.

Huey Lewis 'Ghostbusted'

Ray Parker Jr. filed a lawsuit against singer-songwriter Huey Lewis on Thursday at Los Angeles Superior Court, claiming Lewis broke a contract and confidentiality agreement. Lewis allegedly spoke to VH1's Behind the Music about a lawsuit he filed in 1984, claiming Parker's hit "Ghostbusters" infringed on Lewis' "I Want a New Drug." That case reached a settlement in which all parties agreed to confidentiality. Parker claims that Lewis makes comments in the program, scheduled to air Sunday night, that are "disparaging" and "inflammatory."
