Feb. 4, 2014 — -- The back and forth continues between Woody Allen's camp and the Farrow family.

After Allen's lawyer pointed blame that Dylan Farrow is now speaking up after 20 years about how the director sexually assaulted her as a "vengeful lover," Mia Farrow responded on Twitter.

"I love my daughter. I will always protect her," Farrow tweeted. "A lot of ugliness is going to be aimed at me. But this is not about me, it's about her truth."

This social media response came after Allen's legal team went on the offensive.

"It is tragic that after 20 years a story engineered by a vengeful lover resurfaces even though it was fully vetted and rejected by independent authorities. The one to blame for Dylan's distress is neither Dylan nor Woody Allen," Allen's attorney Elkan Abramowitz said in a statement to CNN.

This war of words expanded over the weekend, after Dylan Farrow wrote an open-letter for the NY Times telling her story on how Allen allegedly assaulted her at age 7.

"That he got away with what he did to me haunted me as I grew up," wrote Farrow. "I was stricken with guilt that I had allowed him to be near other little girls."

Dylan Farrow cited a 1992 alleged incident at the family's Connecticut home, where, she wrote, the director led her to a "dim, closet-like attic" and "then he sexually assaulted me."

Dylan's letter was a continuation of a Farrow family assault on Allen that started a few weeks back.

Ronan Farrow first slammed Allen on Twitter back in early January when the director received a lifetime award from the Golden Globes, saying "Missed the Woody Allen tribute. Did they put the part where a woman publicly confirmed he molested her at age 7 before or after 'Annie Hall'?"

Calls from ABC to Allen's lawyer were not immediately returned.
