Celebrity Parade With Jeanne Wolf

Christina Ricci

Christina Ricci got a brightly colored wardrobe and lipstick to match in "Speed Racer." As Speed's gal pal, Trixie, she drives a really fast car. Christina told Parade, there was one big surprise.

As for riding in a race car mock-up which twisted and turned on a hydraulic gimbal, Ricci had mixed feelings. "It was kind of fun. But they turned it all the way up and really, really shook me up and were very aggressive with it. I did have to get out and vomit and then get back in at one point. But you know, it was worth it. It was really fun. I like getting war wounds and bruises and stuff like that. "

Then Ricci made one surprising admission. "In spite of all the races in the movie I've never been to a real car race. I like horse racing as long as it's from the safety of the OTB."

Matthew Fox

Matthew Fox is the masked and mysterious racer X in "Speed Racer." He's willing to risk everything to cross the finish line first. Matthew told Parade why he loved getting behind the wheel.

Fox was looking forward to wearing his racing togs until he spoke to the film-makers, the Wachowski brothers, before production started. "Somewhere in the conversation, I think it was Larry who said, 'You know the suit is going to be pretty tight,' which was his way of saying, 'get in shape.' And so, I did. I hired a trainer for the first time in my life and got it together."

As for driving in real-life, Fox admits he occasionally puts the pedal to the metal. "I've been known to peel out at a stop light for sure, absolutely. If I'm in the right car and there's no traffic in front of me, I'm definitely known to peel out at the stop light.

Ashton Kutcher

Ashton Kutcher ends up married after a wild night on the town in "What Happens In Vegas." Hey, how bad can it be? His new wife is the sexy Cameron Diaz. Ashton told Parade that he never got hitched in Sin City, but he may have done a little sinning.

Kutcher's description of his first meeting with Diaz sounds like someone was getting punk'd. "I went to her house. And I was kind of a little nervous. Like, "Oh, my god. That's Cameron Diaz. All right!" And she had koi fish at her house. She has giant koi fish, like in a pond. And they're huge. And they scared me a little. And then she scared me a little. But she's a blast. If you're in a room with Cameron, I guarantee you she'll be the happiest, funnest person in the room. It doesn't matter who's in the room. It doesn't matter what the room is. She will be the happiest, funnest person in the room."

As for what's driving him in his upwardly mobile career, Kutcher says, "The only way to increase the size of your comfort zone is to bet on the fact that you can do something that you've never done before and go for it. You don't want to make a fool out of yourself. You don't want to embarrass yourself. You don't want to screw up. But most of the time those obstacles that we see in our lives as giant walls that we feel like we're going to run into, they're actually just curtains. And if you run hard enough and fast enough, you just fly right through it."
