-- A new Superman is flying to TV.
The CW Network announced last month that the series "Supergirl" was added to its 2016-2017 schedule. The network has now cast the role of Clark Kent/Superman to appear at the start of the new season.
The Man of Steel will be played by Tyler Hoechlin, best known for his role on MTV’s "Teen Wolf." He also appears in Richard Linklater’s latest film, "Everybody Wants Some!!"
The DC superhero was last played on TV by Tom Welling on another CW series, "Smallville." Of course, Superman is currently depicted on the big screen by Henry Cavill, most recently in "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice."
Melissa Benoist is the titular character in "Supergirl."
