May 1, 2014 -- One California teen got a boost in her student counsel race from a popular singer.

While attending an L.A. Kings hockey game, Joe Jonas recorded a short message for a teen named Mia, encouraging her fellow students to vote for her.

"Culver City High School, you've gotta vote for my girl Mia," the former Jonas Brothers singer said before flashing a big smile.

According to reports, it worked: The young woman won the election.

Jonas, 24, had an impact on Mia, who posted a photo of herself and a friend with the musician. He was also excited that he was able to help out.

"Really excited the ad worked!" he told TMZ. "I've actually launched a political ad firm - but only for high school and college campaigns, and only while I'm at sporting events. We're open for business!"
