— -- Henry Cavill isn't the only lucky actor to wear the iconic "S" on his chest.

Tyler Hoechlin will be taking on the role of Superman this fall for the CW's hit show "Supergirl."

The network released the first pic of Kal-El Thursday and he looks born to play the part.

"Supergirl isn’t the only new hero coming to The CW this fall. @TylerL_Hoechlin is joining her as Superman!" the show tweeted.

This is the first we've seen of Hoechlin in the suit, though he has been promoting the show, including at last weekend's Comic-Con in San Diego.

The cast took the stage to tease fans about the new adds and season 2.

"It wasn't hard," to get Superman on the show, producer Sarah Schechter told the audience. "Now, everyone, you guys know [Supergirl] and this show is about family ... also about the family you came from."

Clark Kent, aka Superman, is historically Supergirl's cousin. Both are remaining survivors of the planet Krypton. "Supergirl" is back on TV Oct. 10.
