Oct. 16, 2013 -- Will Ferrell is one proud Trojan.

On Monday, the actor returned to his alma mater, the University of Southern California, to lead the marching band in full Trojan armor. (The school's mascot is Tommy Trojan.)

Wielding a sword and pumping his fists, Ferrell sang along to the school's fight song and did his best to keep up with the band, the Spirit of Troy, as part of a rally for his friend Craig Pollard's charity, Cancer for College. The actor is a spokesman for the organization, which provides college scholarships to students with cancer.

That same evening, Ferrell and Pollard spoke at the school about their "careers, friendship and life philosophies."

"This is a unique story of friendship, fun and fighting on," the school's website reads. "Bring your green hat."
