Feb. 27, 2009 — -- Do you know a mom who deserves breakfast in bed from "GMA" and chef Emeril Lagasse this Mother's Day?

Tell us why, in 100 words or less, a mother you know deserves to win Emeril's Breakfast in Bed Contest.

Tell us the story of what she has done for her children, others and the world. Were there acts of selflessness? What lessons about character can her example teach us? What amazing good deeds has she done as a mother or friend that deserve recognition?

Tell "GMA" her amazing story, and maybe we'll surprise her this Mother's Day. The deadline to enter online is Friday, April 17, 2009, 5 p.m. ET. Regular mail entry must be postmarked April 17 and received by Friday, April 24, 2009.

Eligibility Guidelines:
Entrants must be legal residents of the 50 United States or the District of Columbia. The mom you are nominating must be available to be surprised by Emeril's serving her breakfast in bed on Good Morning America on or about May 8, 2009.

Contest sponsored by Good Morning America ("Show") and American Broadcasting Companies, Inc. ("Sponsor").

Any individuals (including but not limited to employees, consultants, independent contractors, and interns) who have, within the past six months, performed services for Good Morning America ("GMA"), American Broadcasting Companies, Inc. ("ABC"), any organizations responsible for sponsoring, fulfilling, administering, advertising or promoting the Contest or supplying the prize, and their respective parent, subsidiary, affiliated and successor companies, and immediate family and household members of such individuals, are not eligible to enter or play. "Immediate family members" shall mean parents, step-parents, children, step-children, siblings, step-siblings, or spouses. "Household members" shall mean people who share the same residence at least three months a year.

Contest Entry Period: Good Morning America's "Emeril's Mother's Day Breakfast in Bed" Contest (the "Contest") entry period begins 7:00 a.m. Eastern Time ("ET") on 02/27/09 and ends 04/17/09 (the "Contest Period"). Sponsor computer is the official clock for this Contest. All internet entries must be received by 5:00 pm on Friday 04/17/09 and all mail entries must be postmarked by 04/17/09 and received by 04/24/09.

How to Enter:
Tell us why your mom is your hero. Has she overcome obstacles in her life? Are there people she has helped? What makes your mom special? Submit a photo and an essay, not to exceed 100 words in length, explaining why a mom you are nominating ("Nominee") deserves to receive "Emeril's Breakfast in Bed," which consists of a visit and breakfast prepared by Chef Lagasse in the winner's hometown. Entrants may include a photo of the mom being nominated, however, photo submission is optional and entries will not be judged based on the photo. Entrants must have full rights to use any photo submitted; photos may not be the protected works of another party; entries submitted with inappropriate or offensive photos will be immediately disqualified. The contest begins 2/27/09 at 7:00 AM EST.

In the event winner is deemed ineligible, fails to comply with contest procedures, or is not available to participate as specified, then first runner-up will be selected to participate, time permitting.

Eligible entries will be judged on the basis of potential for on-air appeal, compelling nature of story and overall readability of essay. Decisions of the judges are final as to all contest-related matters.

In the event of a tie, the entrant with the highest score in the compelling nature of story category. In the event any entrant is deemed ineligible, fails to comply with Contest procedures, or is not available to participate as specified, then first runner-up will be selected to participate, time permitting.

Potential winners will be notified in May 2009.

Prize:
"Emeril's Breakfast in Bed" prize consists of a visit and breakfast prepared by Chef Lagasse in the winner's hometown.

Winners are not entitled to exchange or transfer prizes or to obtain cash or other substitutes, but Sponsors, in their sole discretion, may substitute prizes of equal or greater value. Federal, state and local taxes, if any, are the sole responsibility of the winner, who will receive an IRS Form 1099 reflecting the final actual value of any prize valued at $600 or more. If won by a minor, prize will be awarded in parent's or guardian's name.

Portion of prize that may consist of an appearance on Good Morning America is subject to availability. Sponsor is not responsible for cancellation or preemption of show or for other circumstances that make it impractical or impossible to fulfill this element of the prize. This element of the prize has no approximate retail value, and if it becomes impractical or impossible to fulfill this element, Sponsor's only obligation will be to provide the remainder of prize.

Releases:

By participating, entrants agree to be bound by these official rules and the decisions of the Sponsor/Judges, which shall be final in all respects. By entering the Contest, Entrants agree to execute any and all paperwork requested by the Sponsor which may include, but is not limited to, a background check prior to any on-line or on air appearance of Entrant, Nominee or Entrant's submission or related materials.

Void where prohibited. All federal, state and local laws and regulations apply.

Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry process and to cancel, terminate, modify and/or suspend the contest in the event of tampering or other circumstances, including but not limited to acts of God or civil disturbance that render it impractical or impossible to complete or fulfill the contest as originally planned.

Official rules will be posted on the"GMA" page (ABCNews.com.); the name of the winner will be posted on the same web site for at least 30 days past contest end date and announced on the broadcast.
