Ashley Judd is walking again after breaking her leg in four places nearly six months ago.

The "Double Jeopardy" actress, 53, took to Instagram on Sunday to share more on her recovery, revealing that she was able to hike in the Swiss Alps and sharing photos and videos of her adventure.

"Dear Friends, it is with reverence and quite awe I offer this update," Judd began. "Today, five months and three weeks after the accident in the Congolese rainforest, I walked again, and in what fashion! Stepping in, I felt in my ease, my natural garment of self, at home in my spirit. My leg and foot, worked beautifully."

She said she was able to walk in the mountains "confidently" for an hour and "came down carefully and easily." She ventured out again the next day in Ticino, Switzerland, and realized how much of her stamina she still needs to rebuild, adding, "This is the road ahead."

Judd went on to acknowledge all the medical professionals who helped her get to this place in her recovery. She explained how doctors expected her foot to be able to begin to move again in a year -- "if ever" -- but she was able to move it four months later.

"My leg will never be the same," she continued. "She is a new leg. And I love her. We are buddies. We have come a long way and we have a fabulous life ahead."

"I have been loved and understood and helped in my healing," Judd concluded. "Many of you have been praying for me, and sending me notes. Thank you. I have felt you. I especially have been held by family and my partner. Peace be with you."

The "Missing" actress was hospitalized in February after sustaining serious injuries during a trip to the Democratic Republic of the Congo. At the time, Judd honored the locals who helped save her leg -- and possibly her life.
