RAOV — Risk-Taker, High-Energy, Optimistic, Seeks Variety

You are an unleashed personality. You hold nothing back and are willing to put it all on the line, act quickly and expect success. If you fail, you expect success the next time, or certainly, in the end. You also like change, because a changing environment means new opportunity, another chance or an even better mate. Too much predictability in life scares you. You don't want a partner that will hold you back, so you probably should look for someone who is a forward charging person like yourself – not a timid person.

You have strong opinions and you like things "just so." Still, your personality is modified by the fact you are willing to let someone else take the lead. You tend to be the person in the relationship who lets the other person dominate a large number of decisions. Most of the time, that doesn't bother you.

You are more likely to have many private thoughts about what is going on in the relationship (or your life) before sharing your thoughts with a partner. This has some very good aspects to it. You are unlikely to erupt impetuously and cause arguments that way. On the other hand, you will often come to your opinions and conclusions by yourself, rather than through mutual discussion. This can be alienating to an extrovert. You might want someone who is like yourself and understands this. On the other hand, without an extrovert, things may stay bottled up and become big problems that could have been handled easier, earlier.

You take risks in love and you charge out into the world. However, you like to know a great deal about whom you are with and what this relationship is all about. You are the kind of person who knows your strengths and you know what you like in another person. Once you know you are on firm, familiar and worthy ground, you will take on a tough project, or go after a romantic relationship with a lot of enthusiasm and a strong belief that you can make things work.

But you usually feel this way only if you are with the kind of people you have liked/loved in the past, or it's the kind of situation you understand because you have done something like it before. In general, you like dating the same kind of person (same class, a certain look, similar goals and values) than someone exotic to you. You take your risks elsewhere.

FCTE — Flexible, Compromiser, Temperate, Extrovert

You are the universal connector. You get along with just about everyone, except perhaps a serious introvert, if you are an extreme E (say a score of six true answers out of six questions on our quiz). But, you will do well with almost anyone, except someone looking for someone who wants a highly structured life with a dominating type who will direct the relationship. You, on the other hand, might enjoy someone who is a bit more intense and more dominant than yourself. You are flexible enough to meet the challenge!

In any case, you have the tools to be a great partner. You are not insecure in relationships, you like to work with someone on creating a life together, you don't get upset easily and you seek intimacy and open up your heart to a partner. What's not to love? Someone who is more dominant might make the mistake to take some of this good will for weakness and try and take advantage of your good nature. You have to be careful and not let that happen.

Your need to be liked and your willingness to bend may cause you to compromise too much, so be careful of dominant types that don't have a good sense of fairness and don't appreciate your own kind of strength. Your easiest match is probably someone like you. An FCTE or an FCHE, if you like the passionate type, or even an FDHE, if you like charismatic, big personalities. But there are other types that might be intriguing, a little more of a stretch, but maybe what you might want to explore.

You are willing to take a chance on love. You are an intense person, who goes after what you want with a singular focus. You also understand risk has to be managed and you want to minimize loss or hurt. You proceed with caution on non-romantic commitments and even then, while you may fall passionately in love, you make sure you look closely at the areas that might undermine the relationship. You know the kind of life you want to lead and you are looking for a person to share it with you.

You tend to go for a specific type of person, rather than fall in love with people hugely different from one another. You definitely need someone who shares the same vision you have — a high octane life organized around friends, a devoted partner, and a lifestyle you intend to develop together and maintain.
