Singer Robin Thicke dropped by "GMA" to light up its Fall Concert Series with his soulful sounds. The songwriter, composer and musician just released an album called "Something Else."

Though Thicke has been making music for years, he didn't break into the big time until 2006's "The Evolution of Robin Thicke," which included the hit song "Lost Without You."

When the singer initially entered the business, he performed using only his surname, Thicke, until adopting his full moniker in 2005.

In addition to a platinum selling record, Thicke also has a Grammy. In 2005 he nabbed the award for his collaborations on Usher's pop culture phenomenon "Confessions."

Thicke isn't the only one in his family making it in show business. His wife is actress Paula Patton. His mother was vocalist and actress Gloria Loring and his father, Alan Thicke, is best known for his patriarchal role on the '80s hit sitcom "Growing Pains."

Robin Thicke's latest record is his third release.
