McDonald’s is answering fans' chicken cravings and bringing back its chicken strips permanently.

The new menu item will sport a new name -- McCrispy Strips -- and will be paired with a brand-new sauce offering: Creamy Chili McCrispy Strip Dip.

McDonald's says both new menu items will be added to participating restaurants' menus by May 5.

The restaurant chain teased the return on social media, writing in an Instagram post caption, "warning to all sauces McCrispy Strips and dip drop 5.5."

"The demand for chicken strips has been remarkable to see across the industry, so we knew we had to deliver something so craveable that it was worth the wait," McDonald's Chief Marketing and Customer Experience Officer Alyssa Buetikofer said in part in a statement. "We took our time, listened to our fans, and created a product we knew they would crave. And the best part is we're just getting started.”

According to McDonald's, the chicken strips will be made with 100% white meat and crispy breading, featuring a new black pepper flavor.

McCrispy Strips will be available in three-piece or four-piece sets with one or two creamy chili dip sauces, respectively, but customers can also swap sauces to their liking.

McDonald's had previously announced that a chicken strips option was on the horizon, along with fan-favorite snack wraps, saying the company was looking to expand market share in the chicken space "by the end of 2026."
