beloved school bus driver, a favorite of his students, and now taking a new road in his own life journey, determined to become an educator himself. My name is Clayton ward. And I work as a school bus driver. Growing up, my family owned school buses. In Tennessee. So I've always kind of been around the business. It's very trying, it's very tough. It does take a special person to really drive the bus, knowing that we have to keep the kids safe. What makes me happy is just seeing them happy in general. I'm a person who likes seeing other people happy, especially kids, you know, seeing the joy on their faces and their faces light up when they see it's me driving. Kids that I haven't driven in years, I see them at school and they brighten up the second they see. I've always wanted to be a teacher, even out of high school. I was inspired by my teachers and driving a school bus, getting to know these kids and getting to know what they're learning and once I got to break through that barrier with the high school students and get to know some of them and really get to know their classes and stuff like that they're talking about, talk with them about history, because that that's a passion of mine. I tried to get them to look at different perspective in life. The time of when it happened. A lot of times that once they realize that and they're like, oh, wow, I wish you were like my teacher. So my next step is, I'm starting in a few weeks at the university working on my bachelor's degree in history with a minor in secondary education. My dream is to teach high school history in the next, you know, five, six years, I hope I'm teaching somewhere by then and well established in a school. What I want people to take away from my story is to be inspired, to be, you know, motivated to go out and do those things. To chase after their dreams. There was a point that, you know, over the years, just bus driving, I was kind of like stuck in a rut in a sense. You want to be a fireman or a policeman, lawyer, doctor, whatever it is to go and chase it and not to give up, and you know, make it work for you. Thank you for that much-needed inspiration, Clayton.
