Transcript for ‘Pose’ star dishes on final season
Wait, I know how we can get the money. How? The cash prizes at this weekend's ball are $500 per category. We could cover all of the expenses, if we work together to sweep the ball. Actually, that is great, as a matter of fact, Ricky, you can -- Darling, I wouldn't trust to you organize my bathroom drawer. I am going to get this family back into ballroom shape. Yes, all right. Well, the wait is finally over for fans at the golden globe award-winning series "Pose" and that was a scene from the all new season promising to deliver more of the ground-breaking drama that we've all come to expect and love. And let's bring in now, star of the new season, Dominique Jackson. Dominique, good to see that smile, good to have you here and wait a minute, it's bittersweet, this show seems like it should go on and on and on, but is it time for it, I heard you say maybe if you kept going, you all might mess this thing up. Actually, yeah, there are different levels to ballroom, there are different levels to us, and we have gone through some different periods, so I believe that Mr. Murphy, and FX, and Brad and Janet and Steven have told the story, and for me, as someone who has actually lived most of it, yeah, it's nice that we can move on to something else. Well, Dominique, before we do that, I know you just did wrap up the filming, however, and we don't want you to give anything away, but can you give us a sense of what this season, what this final season is all about? This season is about truth. It's about our lives. It's our lives being played right before you, the stuff that you thought that you could just ignore, as allies, or friends, the stuff that we ignored because we didn't want to retraumatize ourselves is in this season. And we're giving the truth. And we hope that from this, I hope that from this, all of you can understand that we are human beings, and we all deserve to be loved and treated with respect. This show ends up being ground-breaking, award-winning and talked about so much. Do you still kind of pinch yourself at the idea that the show got on the air, it was received the way it was, and now here you are at a finale? I am still in shock, because people like myself are not considered human. We're not considered worthy. We're not considered that we have value. We're not validated. And so when Mr. Murphy and Steven and Janet, my champion, all of these people backing us, it's just that we needed support, so it's been an amazing journey. Dominique, thank you so much for being with us today. We love that smile, that energy, and we can't wait to see what you do next after you get your sleep, and a little partying in. You can see all new episodes of "Pose" Sunday nights on FX.
