"In restricted zone--driving into ash right now," ABC News'
Neal Karlinsky tweeted along with this photo. Karlinsky flew over and drove into ash spewing from the Icelandic volcano that has grounded flights over a large part of Europe. He reported "
visibility near zero" once he rode into the ash cloud. "I've never experienced anything like this.
Pitch black. Thunder. Choking ash. Sunny day nearby," he wrote. "
Driving in ash. Like midnight in a storm. Have seen horses & birds covered. Helpless."
