Thanksgiving decorations are fine, but this holiday is all about the food. Katie Brown shared two bonus holiday recipes -- her Roast Turkey and Apple, Sage and Walnut Stuffing recipes.


  • 1 turkey (10-12 lbs.)
  • 3 lemons, halved
  • 10 sprigs parsley
  • 3 onions cut in half-inch rings
  • 4 to 5 whole carrots
  • 4 stalks celery
  • 1 stick butter
  • Cooking Directions

    Preheat oven to 425° F.

    Stuff turkey with lemon and parsley.

    Tie legs of the turkey together with kitchen string and tuck the wings behind the turkey neck.

    Place the turkey in a roasting pan on a bed of onion, celery, and carrot. Cook for 30 minutes and then turn the temperature down to 350° F.

    Baste with butter every hour until cooked through, 170° for the breast and 180° for the thigh
