Transcript for Lizzo surprises class that went viral performing her song
Now we are going to turn to our very special guests joining us right now. Yesterday we showed you that second great classroom remix of lizzo's song "Truth hurts" led by her teacher and now they're joining us from pittsburg, California. Good morning, class. Good morning. Dorothy, Dorothy, we love the video we saw yesterday but it has inspired so many people. You have hundreds and hundreds of thousands of views. How did you find out it went viral? Well, I was sleeping and then I got a message saying the news wants to call you and talk to you. It was like 6:00 in the morning. I was like, okay, sorry, called them then I went online and got all these messages saying, you're on TV. You're on the news. What's going on? So that's when I found out. So great. Pretty exciting. Inspired choice on the song by lizzo. Why did you choose it? So I do a song every year. I do a sock every year and it's really important I find a song that the kids know, they're engaged in. They get hyped on and once the lizzo song came on for kids bop it played on our station and the song came on and the kids started grooving to it. As soon as I saw them dancing, I'm doing it. Which I got excited for because I love the soong in general. I've been grooving to it since the summer so I got really, really excited. Lizzo loved your video. She tweeted it herself and she called it the best thing that she had watched that day. When you heard that what did you think? At first I thought it was fake. I was like, there's no way -- such a small town. When I looked 5 at it, I go, oh my goodness. Does this mean we're going to be best friends now? Really excited. She was more excited and has something else to say to you all. Take a listen. Hey, kids, it's lizzo. I saw the wonderful video that y'all made. Your teacher is very cool. I want to thank you so much for supporting me and I want to let you know that you are 100% the future. You're so bright and so beautiful and so talented so keep it up and I hope to see you one day. I want to drop in on your class so hopefully we can makehat happen but in the meantime, stay bright. Thanks. That was awesome. Oh, my gosh. What do you guys think? What do you think? That's so -- oh, my gosh. That's so exciting. Thank you so much. Thank you, thank you, thank you. We know we want to thank you. Thank you and your class for waking up early for us but we can't let you go without singing a few lines. Can you do that for us. Okay, I should we do it? Yeah.
