— -- Lara Spencer has been a correspondent for ABCNEWS' Good Morning America, focusing on the quirky side of life and covering human-interest stories for the program, since May 2001

She also reports on lifestyle, fashion and relationship trends for Good Morning America. Her time was previously split between WABC-TV's "Eyewitness News" and Good Morning America. Spencer will continue to be based out of New York.

From the Pokemon craze to the best mutts in America, Spencer has been reporting on the offbeat aspects of life for Good Morning America since 1999. There, she developed her signature "behavior labs," examining the funnier side of humanity. For example, Spencer recently took an interesting look at the contrasting ways men and women treat blondes and brunettes.

In the summer of 2000, Spencer invited viewers to celebrate her nuptials from start to finish as she planned her wedding and taped a video diary of the festivities for Good Morning America. As a follow-up, Spencer hosted Good Morning America's love and wedding series, "Happily Ever After: Love in Times Square."

For the past six years, Spencer has been doing lifestyle reports on WABC-TV's "Eyewitness News." Since 1995, she has appeared on "Eyewitness News This Morning" and covered feature and human interest stories for the evening newscasts.

At WABC-TV, Spencer covered the crash of TWA Flight 800 and was sent to London to cover the death of Princess Diana. She came to WABC-TV from News 12 in Long Island. Prior to that, she reported for WDEF-TV in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Spencer resides with her husband in New York City. She holds a B.A. degree in journalism from Pennsylvania State University.
