First the speedy verdict in the so-called love try Ang murder trial. Jurors deciding the fate of Pedro bravo, the young man accused of killing his own friend over a girl. Well, apparently bravo's decision to take the witness stand, it did not help his cause and ABC's Matt Gutman has the story. In the charge of first degree murder -- And on and on it went for the jury, there was not much to deliberate. Taking less than four hours to find Pedro bravo guilty of all seven counts he was charged with. Including the premeditated murder of his friend, Christian Aguilar on September 2012. Bravo repentant to the end. I did not kill Christian Aguilar. The judge responding -- This is your day of reckoning. You took his past, everything he had been and his present everything he was and you took his future, everything that he would have been. Reporter: Until the court stripped H of his life as he knew it. I sentence you to natural life in prison with no possibility of parole. They streamed out of the courtroom falling into each other's arms. How do you feel? I don't have words to describe it. Reporter: On that soggy September night police say bravo drankled his friend in a fit of knellous si over this woman, Erika friman, bravo's high. School sweetheart. He buried his friend in a shallow grave but refused to tell police or his family where it was. After the verdict his father spoke. Now in the minutes after the trial, are you ready to forgive? Not yet because Pedro bravo didn't show any signs of repent. Reporter: But he added at least now his healing can begin. For "Good morning America," Matt Gutman, ABC news Gainesville, Florida. The case is gruesome and very sad. Let's bring in ABC news legal analyst Ryan smith this morning. Ryan, good morning. Thanks for coming in. Were you surprised at how speedy the verdict was. I was not. Not when you have a mountain of evidence against you like Pedro bravo did. They had video of him picking a murder starter kick, duct tape and shovels. And not only that, DNA evidence and blood evidence in that car. That stacked up against him and made imalmost impossible for an acquittal. What was the strategy behind him taking the stand. You had to. He had to take the stand because he actually gave a police interview beforehand where he explained what happened for hours. Typically that's a dream for the defense because there's your story in court and you're not getting cross-examined but he had so many inconsistencies, so many things that didn't match up he had to get on the stand and explain himself again and offer explanations to those inconsistencies and he did a terrible job. He laughed of the he was uncomfortable and in so many ways he made it even more confusing. When that happens the jury doesn't find you credible. They can't buy your story and in that way, he stuck with what he says on the stand and this those tapes. Ryan, we appreciate your analysis this morning. Thank you.
