Lara, something is going on upstair, hammering andsawing. It'sn madness locked out of my dressing room for two days of the here's why, everybody. We have a new series on "good morning america," it's called "lowe's,5ñ improve this" we we do this for your home, your garden. Assignment one, how to use lots of color in small spaces and LET'S JUST SAY WE DIDN'T HAVEjzo TO Go far to find a tiny space in desperate need of a makeover. Take a look. Welcome to my dressing room. I know. nO<dIQQe9ñ But it's going to be. I'm walking my friend designer jonathan adler into my dressing room. You've never seen a space, it's tiny. It's plain. It's cluttered. And it has green formica. Go. Oh, no. No, no, no it's going to be okay. Oh, no. It's going to be okay. It's about time. I've been at "gma" for two years and haven't done a single thing to my dressing room. Ironic considering at the same time I've decorated about 20 homes. Welcome to your new living room! OH, WOW.PR9ón Oh, h@÷ my god. And completed a million diy projects. 4;C%$Sjj But like most of you when it comes to my own space I need a little help getting started. I am going to make this a joyful colorful happy place. First step, declutter. As you can see I have a little bit of a hoarding problem. I have a hard time parting with things from fun segments. It's a hood and a pillow. It's from "pop news." Can I keep it? In such a small space creating storage is crucial. This is supposed to be for hair products and there's a fish in there so I'll replace the messy open shelves with drawers I scored at a thrift shop. They'll look like a million bucks with a little sand, primer AND PAINT.s$ What's your philosophy on small spaces, pattern and color. I think they should be like jewel boxes so they should be luxurious and full of pattern, jonathan's solution, wallpaper in light, bright and a little wild. You're okay with mixing the ú+15&ly green with the chartreuse, the turquoise, oh, it does look great together. Here's a cool trick. Funk up the formica by covering it with contact paper. One of my favorite tips is this little guy called a corner bracket. Go to any hardware store it's like el cheapo, four for a buck AND DRESS UP ANY DRAWEb4VÑ SPACE. I have these and though they're not attractive they're functional and feel like an easy fix here would be sand them down, spray paint and then easy, easy fabric job. I love it. Recovering a stool is no different than wrapping a PRESENT.jé And the biggest eye sore of all, this window area, a daybed in desperate need of some tlc. I think what we should do is do fabric like get some drapes here going down both sides. Totally diy it. If somebody wanted to do this for air dorm room or a teeny tiny apartment, what is your number one jonathan adler test? Make it personal. Just make your room personal and it'll make you happy. Here's the moment, everybody. You see the sign, ha, let's go. Let's do it. Come on. Oh, my goodness gracious. It's an explosion of color and madness. Holy holy moley. Th is the first time I'm seeing it, jonathan adler, thank you so much. I don't want to waste time gushing but holy moley and you used my wig. I'm so excited. Let's give more tips to our grateful fans. This is contact m:I9ñ you can get this at any hardware store. Literally wrapped the formica. We wrapped it. How much better does it look? That was bumming me out and now it is making me happy. Oh, my and look at this. These are those corner brackets. Not used for decorative purposes normally. So cheap but you took them and you made them a decorative thing and changes out the -- totally different. Two bucks for like each drawer. It looks incredible. Look at that. Isn't that awesome? This is a great tip telling me I wasn't allowed to see it. You don't need to pay an electrician, you can just plug in a chandelier by using cord and all available at any hardware store. Simple diy tips. Swag the shapdz leer and LOOKS GREAT, Xry AND IT'S LIKE A Little nook for you. I usually do had for others. Thank you so much. It was such a dump and now it's fabulous, everybody, jonathan adler, check out his website, check out his book, you will get so many tips. How can we find out more. Go to www.Jonathanadler.Com.
