to a harrowing story from the highway. An alleged road rage incident in Florida. Two people were hurt when the car they were driving was riddled with bullets. Vikder Oquendo has more for us this morning. Reporter: Good morning, Paula and Dan. Both victims are from Miami. They were heading south on the turnpike when the shots were fired. The police are asking people to come forward. The shooter was in fwra Toa gray Toyota. Reporter: This morning, searching are heating up. An alleged case of road rage. Additional callers now advising two patients. The shooter is not on scene from what we're getting. Reporter: The gunman unloading about a dozen rounds from his car in broad daylight. Hitting this red Chevy impala near 10:00 A.M. Passenger side windows and doors riddled with bullets. Inside, a 37-year-old man and a 17-year-old woman. Both from Miami. Incredibly, both only suffering minor injuries. Taken to the medical center for treatment. We're getting multiple calls on this. Reporter: The southbound lanes shut down while troopers investigated. No word on what prompted the shooting. Florida authorities Aring look for the driver of a gray Toyota Camry. Deadly crashes stemming from road rage have gone from 70 incidents in 2006 rising to 422 in 2015. Highway altercations involving guns have more than doubled in the past three years. Thankfully, both victims are expected to recover here. Florida highway patrol revying any Ed and video from toll plazas. The shooter is still on the loose. They need the public's health here.
