Transcript for Oscar Nominee Michelle Pfeiffer Takes Dark Twist in 'The Family'
Wait, there's more. Three-time oscar nominee, michelle pfeiffer. Famously played a mafia wife, in "married to the mob." Now, she's married to robert de niro, in the new dark comedy, "the family." They end up in the witness protection agency in france. We'll talk to michelle. Peanut butter. We don't stock stuff like that, lady. I was only asking. Where might I find the pasta? At the end of the dog food. That makes 92 francs, please. Keep the change. I'm with you, sam. I love that, too. When you kind of -- michelle pfeiffer, welcome back to "good morning america." I love how you say peanut butter. You do not mess with maggie. Saw it last night. And was laughing. It's fun. Yeah. The cast is just marvelous. And to be back in a mob-type movie, how is that for you? You seem to like that. Enjoy it. I did. I love it. I've always been fascinated with this world and these people and these women. And I think most people are. And I had the most fun doing "married to the mob" and playing that character. And I was just so excited to kind of revisit that world. Robert de niro, you've been in films with him before. But never sharing scenes with him. And we know him in a lot of these types of movies. It must have been a delight to work with him. He's on my bucket list of people I wanted to work with. And, yeah. I thought, I've been in two movies with him. But we've never actually been on the set together. And I just thought, it probably wasn't going to happen. And so, I was thrilled. He's so generous. He really is. And really -- he's really, like, really, you know, he's there for all of the other actors. Incredibly generous. Yeah. I just loved -- and I was surprised at how kind of, you know, open he was. Yeah. You guys really work well together. Don't mess with maggie, your character. And I read a long time ago, that you want to do some action movies. You want to get out there and -- kick butt. And kick butt, as you said. I just haven't done them in a while. And I better do it soon. Oh, no. It will be like granny with a gun. And I still can, you know? Yes, you can. And I don't know. I loved -- "24"-obsessed. Don't we all want to be jack bauer a little bit? Last time you were here you were sad because you were becoming an empty nester. And now, it's your son. How are you doing? I'm okay. Yeah. Right. Breathe. I'm okay. I'm okay. It's going to be a challenge. Yeah. But it will be good, you know? You had children so young in the marriage. It's kind of like, you get a honeymoon all over again, you and david. Yeah. And you know, we're going on 20 years. I know. I know. So, we're just beginning to sort of talk about -- you know, it's -- I mean, obviously, it's a luxury, dealing with -- wow, where do we want to live? But also kind of a little bit scary, too. You'll face it head-on, like you do everything. Michelle, it's always wonderful to have you here. We appreciate it very much. We've been telling everybody. "The family" in theaters everywhere on friday.
