Texas. The truck was found, driver on the loose, he and his father are charged in connection with the crime Mara schiavocampo has the story. This was a big haul. Reporter: It's hundreds of thousands of dollars. When he first turned up missing, police thought he was a victim, but now he's a suspect. His family reacting to the accusation. Missing person turned wanted man. Looking for 24-year-old Trent Michael cook for first degree felony theft of goods valued at more than $200,000. They say he could be armed and dangerous. He hasn't been seen since Monday, the same day police found the armored truck abandoned in a vacant lot after disappearing for 20 minutes. Engines running, everything inside stolen. No sign of a struggle or forced entry. The armored truck was here. Reporter: At first officials worried that cook may have been harm pfrmgtsd the first concern is the welfare of the driver. We're looking into that immediately. Reporter: But Tuesday they issued a warrant for cook's arrest. Saying investigators have information that the suspect had discussed how a theft like this would be committed. They say his father was in on it top too. He's arrested for tampering with or changing evidence. We talked to his mother and stepfather on Tuesday. They were convinced of his innocence. None of us believe Trent has anything to do with this. Reporter: Now shocked, they are standing by him. This is completely out of character for Trent. He's, you know, and this is not something that he -- he would do. Reporter: Pleading directly with cook to turn himself in. I really want you to just come home and be safe and sound. No matter what happens. Reporter: As for what was stolen from the truck, police won't say exactly what was inside. Just one more part of a mystery that's still unfolding. Cook's family also told us he loved his job.
