— -- Question: Can Antidepressants Be Used to Treat My Depression While I Am Getting Chemotherapy?

Answer:Yes, antidepressants can be used. And if women are already on anti-depressants, they can continue on them. There are some drugs that have interactions with chemotherapy -- typically not the antidepressants -- although some of our other drugs (like tamoxifen), we have to be careful about which anti-depressants are used. I think the important thing to remember is that your physician should always know what drugs you're taking, so that they can address these questions about interactions as they go along.
