— -- When California health coach April Storey was looking for a way to work out while her toddler daughter napped, she found inspiration in wine.

Storey, 24, of Redding, California, told ABC News her inspiration came last New Year’s Eve when she saw a box of wine in her house and put it to use during her at-home workout.

“I thought, 'Well, I love wine and I love to work out so I should use both,'" Storey said of her idea.

Storey started shooting videos of herself working out with wine, posting them on Facebook and Instagram, where they have attracted thousands of views. The "wine workouts" show Storey using bottles of reds as weights and sipping from a glass of wine mid push-up.

“It’s just making it fun and making working out an everyday thing that incorporates what you have at home,” Storey explained.

Storey posted her most recent video on Feb. 18, a.k.a. National Wine Day. The video is lower body-focused and shows her sipping wine while doing lunges and wall sits.

Up next, said Storey, is a wine workout video she plans to film with a friend.

“This will be a workout for when you get together with your girlfriends,” Storey said. “I want fitness to be something you can incorporate into your everyday life.”

She added: "You don’t need a gym membership or fancy equipment."
