April 27, 2011 — -- Sure, there'll be champagne aplenty at Prince William and Kate Middleton's nuptuials. But the real royal beverage is tea.

It's all but certain that the couple and their entourage will down a few cups of tea during their marathon day of matrimony. It's their tradition -- Prince William and Middleton reportedly kindled their relationship over cups of chai (him) and Earl Grey (her) at Scotland's North Point Cafe. And according to the UK Tea Council, the United Kingdom consumes 165 million cups of tea a day.

Of course, the first cup that the soon-to-be princess drinks with her in-laws won't be your average chipped mug and coaster affair. Manners must be had. There'll probably be curtsies. God forbid she spike her cup or pour the stuff in Her Royal Highness's lap.

Ahead of the big day, ABCNews.com sat down with Cindi Bigelow, president of Bigelow Tea, at New York City's Gazala's to learn the dos and definite do nots of drinking tea. Click here or press play above to see what she said.
