Sept. 5, 2012 — -- It's a nerve-wracking few minutes that raises the question: What was she thinking?

In a video from CTV that's making the rounds online, a mother duck leads what appears to be eight ducklings across a five-lane Toronto highway.

It's a scene that makes you anxious and excited as you cheer the little family safely along.

As the mother duck and her brood try to reach the other side, the cars keep coming, with one vehicle appearing to clip the baby ducks.

The speed of the cars also blows the baby ducks across the road as they desperately try to cluster around their mother and make it across.

The video, which was reportedly taken in May by a news helicopter, recently hit YouTube.
