Father-Daughter 'Frozen' Duet Is Must-See Adorable
Lucy Kartchner told her dad she wanted to record a song with him
— -- Even if you feel ready to let it go when it comes to the “Frozen” phenomenon, a father-daughter duet of one of the movie's hit songs could change your mind.
Andy Kartchner was getting his daughter, Lucy, ready for bed last Friday night when the four-year-old made a special request.
“She said, ‘Daddy, I want to do ‘Love Is An Open Door’ with you and I want to record it,” Kartchner told ABC News. “She wanted to get dressed up like Anna so her mom did her braids and all.”

Once Lucy was dressed as Anna, who, in the film, is searched for by her sister, Elsa, she belted the song with dramatic flair as her dad, Kartchner, who lives in the Washington, D.C. area with his wife and Lucy’s two brothers, provided the male vocals in the background.
“As you can tell from the video, she is a ham and she loves to perform,” Kartchner said. “Like most girls her age she is obsessed with the movie.”
“Love Is An Open Door” is the family’s favorite song from “Frozen,” according to Kartchner, and one that they sing frequently together around their house.
“That was the first take,” Kartchner said of the video, which has 1,000 views and counting on YouTube. “We’d sung it so many times before that we just sat down and did it.”
Kartchner posted the video on YouTube and Facebook, he says, to share with their extended family, who all live far away on the West coast. Now that the duet is a viral hit, Kartchner says he hopes viewers take away a message.
“She’s a daddy’s girl,” Kartchner said of Lucy. “We just thought it’d be fun to post it online and show that dads can and should really love their daughters and show their daughters what real love is.”
