Rice cookers don’t have the same popularity in the United States as they do in Asia, but here’s one seriously important reason they could take off. All you have to do is put your pancake batter in a rice cooker, turn the machine on and you will end up with a sky-high pancake cake.

"It worked really well. I did have to run the rice cooker through a couple of cycles. So it took 45 minutes to an hour for them to cook all the way through, but it did well,” Amber Pippin, 30, said. “I did grease the rice cooker before just because I was worried it would stick, but it came right out.”

Pippin made the breakfast as a treat for her seven-year-old son Kalob, who was clearly thrilled with the results.
