OpenTable's Top Restaurants in the United States

OpenTable just released its list of the top 100 restaurants in the United States, based on data collected from its website in the past year.
The list reflects the "combined opinions of more than 5 million restaurant reviews submitted by verified OpenTable diners for more than 20,000 restaurants in all 50 states and the District of Columbia,” the online dining reservation service said in a news release.
Restaurants in almost 30 states were honored in the complete top 100 list, with the food options including steaks, sushi and just about everything in between.
U.S. and French restaurants were "overwhelmingly popular," OpenTable noted, but restaurants that served "globally inspired fare" were also significantly represented on the list.
St. Francis Winery & Vineyards in Santa Rosa, California, OpenTable's pick as the number one restaurant in the country, has held the top spot twice in the past three years.
OpenTable also found that established restaurants heavily dominated the list, and restaurants that identify as "fine-dining restaurants" took a majority of spots on the list as well.
"Even as diners embrace a wide range of concepts from family-style meals to small plates, it’s clear that fine dining and multi-course tasting menus continue to dazzle," Caroline Potter, OpenTable chief dining officer, said in the news release.
"This year’s winners are the restaurants that transcend fads, consistently put out delicious dishes, provide impeccable service, and pay attention to every detail to orchestrate one-of-a-kind experiences, time and again," she added.
