The severe updos that used to grace the red carpet are now out, and more natural looks are all the rage.
Ted Gibson has styled the locks of many Hollywood A-listers, and he favors tousled waves such as those worn by Tina Fey, Julianne Moore and Beyonce for her Super Bowl halftime show performance. He believes those styles make women look fresher.
He also believes that nuanced highlights – such as the kind perfected by Jennifer Aniston, and loose buns and braids such as those sported by Kate Winslet and Amy Adams – help channel a youthful vibe.
It's said that the right hairstyle can knock 10 years of a woman’s appearance. “Good Morning America” gave three women a hair makeover today. The glam squad -- led by Peter Oon and Elvin Arvelo of Oon Arvelo salon in Manhattan -- helped Melissa with her bangs, Nancy with her color and Gabrielle with her texture.
The experts advised the women to avoid framing their faces with hard edges and to always work with their hair texture. They also said women should never stray from their own natural shade and should keep their hair at mid-length. They also cautioned against framing one’s face with severe, blunt lines, saying women should instead opt for soft layers.
