    Jersey Shore: The Musical
The only thing more outrageous than the cast of "Jersey Shore" is a parody of the late-night antics they get themselves into set to music and choreography. After getting rave reviews at the New York International Fringe Festival, "JERSEY SHOREsical: A Frickin' Rock Opera" launched an encore series at NYC's Players Theatre that runs through Sunday, Sept. 25.

The brainchild of Daniel Franzese, who plays Ronnie, and Hanna Loptain, who plays Sammie sweetheart, the musical delves into the hair grease and booze to pull out the original characters' mannerisms through song. From left to right, Ronnie, Pauly D (Mark Shunock), Vinny (Mike Ciriaco) and Mike the Situation (Max Crumm) belt out a tune about their favorite pastime: GTL (gym, tanning, laundry).

One of the most recognizable characters from the show, obnoxious Snooki, played by Karen Diconcetto, sings a moving ballad about her dream to find a "gorilla juicehead," jar of pickles (her favorite food) in hand. "She just wants to be loved," Hanna Lopatin said, "She wants to find her gorilla juicehead and she wants to get married and have babies, and that's something people can identify with."

Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino, played by Max Crumm, sings a touching solo about the person he loves most in the world – himself. "A lot of the times we were wondering, as we were writing it, would this hurt their feelings, because that is not our intention," Daniel Franzese said. "We definitely want it to just be fun."

The musical also reenacts priceless moments with the gals and their "gorilla juiceheads." Who can forget the moment when a Long Island man delivered the infamous sucker punch in the face to Snooki, played by Karen Diconcetto, at a bar in August 2009.

Season 3 of "Jersey Shore," Angelina is booted from the cast and replaced with Deena Nicole Cortese. In "JERSEY SHOREsical," the cast performs a song-and-dance to welcome Deena, played by Rebekka Johnson, to the group. Willam Belli pays J Woww (left): "They couldn't find an actress who was pretty enough and could sing well enough, so they just said, 'screw it we'll get a different gender.'"

A typical night on the town for the "Jersey Shore" crew is heading out to the clubs for a night of fist pumping. Pauly D, played by Mark Shunock, is shown here driving the gang.
