Donald Trump Teases Updates to His VP Search

— -- Donald Trump used Twitter to stoke speculation about his vice presidential selection process today.
He published a string of tweets praising three people who are believed to be in contention to become the presumptive GOP nominee's running mate.
The first mention was of Arkansas Sen. Tom Cotton, a vocal Trump supporter:
The second referenced Indiana Gov. Mike Pence, who is reportedly under consideration for the job, according to a Republican source.
Trump has not released a public schedule of events for the Fourth of July weekend, but he revealed on Twitter that he's going to be meeting with another contender today:
In a statement, Ernst said she had a "good conversation" with the presumptive GOP nominee, and said she will continue to advise Trump.
"I will continue to share my insights with Donald about the need to strengthen our economy, keep our nation safe, and ensure America is always a strong, stabilizing force around the globe," she said.
Trump will travel to Washington Thursday for meetings with House and Senate Republicans - the first time he'll face the majority of elected GOP officials in Washington, who largely dismissed his campaign in the GOP primary.
Aside from the three people whom Trump mentioned today on Twitter, ABC News has confirmed that New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie is being vetted as a possible contender for the job, and The Washington Post reported that former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich is also being vetted.
For his part, Trump didn't reveal any other names today.
Trump has long said that he will wait until the Republican National Convention in Cleveland to announce his vice presidential pick, but there have been suggestions that the announcement may come earlier.
