"Today, we've reached a milestone in our nation's march toward a more perfect union: The first time that a major party has nominated a woman for President," Clinton said. --ANALYSIS: CONVENTION SPREADS BIGGER TENT FOR DEMOCRATS -- AS CLINTON PITCHES REINVENTION: The wild week of the Democratic National Convention brought anger and unpredictability, loud disagreements and flashes of patriotism and a party exposing its divisions and anxieties for the nation to see, ABCs RICK KLEIN writes. In other words, it revealed America. And when Hillary Clinton made it all official, accepting the Democratic nomination Thursday night, she presided over a party that looked stronger, and potentially bigger, than it did just a few days ago. Powerful forces are threatening to pull us apart, Clinton said. And just as with our Founders, there are no guarantees. It's truly is up to us. We have to decide whether we will all work together so we can all rise together. Hillary Clinton used her convention to stage-manage a reintroduction. http://abcn.ws/2aOry6n

TRUMP CAMPAIGN: CLINTON DNC SPEECH DELIVERED FROM 'FANTASY UNIVERSE'. The Donald Trump campaign said Hillary Clinton's Democratic National Convention speech was "delivered from a fantasy universe," in a scathing rebuke against the newly-minted Democratic presidential nominee, ABCs BRIAN MCBRIDE notes. "Clinton's speech was an insulting collection of clichés and recycled rhetoric," Trump's Senior Policy Advisor, Stephen Miller, said late Thursday night. "She spent the evening talking down to the American people she's looked down on her whole life." Earlier in the evening, Clinton spoke before thousands at the Wells Fargo Arena in Philadelphia to formally accept her party's nomination. Shortly after Clinton spoke, Trump fired off a series of Tweets, one of which blasted his election rival for "corruption" and said "devastation" follows her wherever she goes. http://abcn.ws/2a45p71 TRUMP VS. DELEGATES HOLD UP LIAR SIGNS AND CHANT NO MORE WAR DURING DNC. Two days after the candidacy of Bernie Sanders officially came to an end, supporters of the Vermont senator made their displeasure known on the final night of the Democratic National Convention  holding up signs saying liar and chanting no more war during speeches. Across the Wells Fargo Center, many Sanders' delegates also wore neon yellow, glow-in-the-dark t-shirts with the words, "Enough is Enough" written on them. However, Sanders delegates received a text message from the Sanders organization asking them to be respectful throughout the evening. Despite the message, the delegation from California unfurled a large banner that said "Wikileaks" -- in reference to the DNC email leak scandal -- during a video introduction of Clinton. During Clinton's speech there was sporadic shouting from the crowd that was quickly drowned out by chants of "Hillary." CHELSEA CLINTON SAYS HER MOTHER 'NEVER FORGETS WHO SHE'S FIGHTING FOR.' Chelsea Clinton, daughter of Democratic Party nominee Hillary Clinton, praised her mother's dedication to public service in her speech introducing the former secretary of state to the DNC, saying that "she never forgets who she's fighting for." "I'm here as a proud American, a proud Democrat, a proud mother, and a very, very proud daughter," Chelsea Clinton began in her endorsement of her mother. She described her mother as "wonderful" and "hilarious," and recounted stories about her mother reading "Goodnight Moon" to her. She also described her mother as a devoted grandmother. TRUMP WANTED TO 'HIT A COUPLE OF [DNC] SPEAKERS SO HARD.' Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump said Thursday afternoon he wanted to "hit" some of the Democratic National Convention speakers "so hard" while watching them Wednesday night, including a "little guy...so hard his head would spin." "You know what I wanted to. I wanted to hit a couple of those speakers so hard," Trump said. "I would have hit them. No, no. I was going to hit them, I was all set and then I got a call from a highly respected governor." Trump didn't immediately clarify what he meant, but he said he was made particularly upset by an unspecified person he called a "little guy, ABCs MICHAEL EDISON HAYDEN reports. http://abcn.ws/2aNWDHG

FATHER OF MUSLIM U.S. SOLDIER KILLED IN COMBAT BLASTS TRUMP: HAVE YOU READ THE CONSTITUTION? The father of one of 14 American Muslims who died serving in the U.S. Armed Forces in the ten years that followed the 9/11 attacks, took direct aim at Donald Trump Thursday night during a speech at the DNC, suggesting the GOP presidential candidate brush up on the Constitution, ABCs DAVID CAPLAN notes. "If it was up to Donald Trump, he never would have been in America," said Khizr Khan, whose son Humayun S. M. Khan, was killed by a car bomb in Iraq in 2004. "Donald Trump consistently smears the character of Muslims. He disrespects other minorities, women, judges, even his own party leadership. He vows to build walls and ban us from this country. Donald Trump, youre asking Americans to trust you with their future." With his wife at his side, Khan then said, taking out a pocket copy of the Constitution, "Let me ask you: have you even read the United States Constitution?" http://abcn.ws/2akMC6C

REP. CASTRO, MULLING SENATE RUN, SLAMS TED CRUZ. Rep. Joaquin Castro of Texas criticized Sen. Ted Cruz in an interview Thursday, possibly testing a couple of modes of attack that he could use against the polarizing senator in a contest for Cruz's seat in 2018. Many Texans have been extremely disappointed in Ted, in his leadership, Castro told ABC News. Ted doesnt work for Texas, he works for Ted. Texans havent sent a Democrat to the Senate in more than 20 years, but Castro said they want somebody in there who is not spending every day figuring out where in Iowa theyre going to visit. The ambitious San Antonio Democrat, whose future has been an object of speculation among the party faithful gathered in Philadelphia, said hell decide in the next couple of months whether to run for the Senate, ABCs MARY BRUCE, AMNA NAWAZ and BENJAMIN SIEGEL report. http://abcn.ws/2akN30s

WASSERMAN SCHULTZ SAYS SHE 'TOOK ONE FOR THE TEAM" BY RESIGNING. Outgoing Democratic National Committee Chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz spoke about her resignation during a reception at the party's convention yesterday, saying she took one for the team by stepping down from her leadership post. This has been a difficult week. Theres no question about it," she said at the reception by the National Jewish Democratic Council, ABCs ALANA ABRAMSON reports. "And I am so proud of my team, some of whom are here, that put [the convention] together, from the convention team, to the national committee staff, to the volunteers, to our donors. Sometimes you just have to take one for the team. And thats what happened. It's OK." http://abcn.ws/2a8hrrz

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT

BEHIND THE SCENES AT THE DNC'S LOST AND FOUND. In a tiny office hidden in a back corner of the Democratic National Convention's arena is the lost and found. The man who runs it has been working there nearly 20 years, but he said its a group effort to make sure items lost at the Wells Fargo Center are returned. People are always grateful, especially [if they get back their] cell phones and credit cards, said Jack Kay Jr., command center supervisor at the arena. Weve had people offer rewards, but we don't take them. A thank you is good enough. The most memorable item ever to wind up there was a prosthetic leg, according to Kay. It was found in the parking lot after a football game. ABCs OLIVIA SMITH has more: http://abcn.ws/2aCWB63
