— -- A senior Secret Service supervisor was placed on administrative leave after being accused of making unwanted sexual advances toward a subordinate, ABC News has learned.
The matter is being investigated by the Department of Homeland Security Inspector General’s Office, a Secret Service spokesperson said. The incident, which allegedly took place at an office after a party, was reported April 2, and interviews were conducted that day.
The agent’s security clearance was also suspended, the spokesperson said.
The Secret Service released a statement about the alleged incident.
“The Secret Service is an agency that demands that our employees conduct themselves with the highest level of integrity. These allegations as reported are very disturbing. Any threats or violence that endangers our employees in the workplace is unacceptable and will not be tolerated,” the statement reads.
It is the latest in a string of incidents involving Secret Service personnel. Last month, two senior agents drove into the White House complex and struck a barricade amid an investigation into a suspicious package.
