Dec. 2, 2007 — -- Henry Hyde, 83 -- U.S. congressman from Illinois known for his bi-partisan manner. He vigorously opposed abortion and also led the effort to impeach President Clinton.

"When the president of the United States raises his right hand and swears to tell the truth and he doesn't, we think that is serious enough to be brought to the attention of the United States Senate."

Evel Knievel, 69 -- Stuntman who shocked and awed audiences with his death-defying performances for more than 30 years.

"My life has been being a daredevil. I am Evel Knievel. I am a daredevil."

Sean Taylor, 24 -- Safety for football's Washington Redskins.

Roger Smith, 82 -- Former General Motors CEO who tried to modernize G.M. -- but the company's decline became his legacy in Michael Moore's film "Roger and Me."

"We are announcing the closing of 11 of our older plants."
