‘GMA’ Widens Total Viewer Lead Over ‘Today’ Versus 2016 May Sweep ‘GMA’ Narrows Adults 25-54 Margins with ‘Today’ Compared to 2016 May Sweep

ABC News’ “Good Morning America” ranked as the No. 1 morning newscast during the 2016 July sweep in Total Viewers (4.210 million), based on Most Current Data from Nielsen Media Research. “GMA” beat NBC’s “Today” (4.021 million) by 189,000, marking the 5th consecutive year to rank No. 1 during the July sweep in overall viewers. In addition, “GMA” widened its Total Viewer lead with “Today” versus its lead during the 2016 May sweep (+3%; vs. 184,000).

Overall, “GMA” has won 17 consecutive sweeps in Total Viewers – beginning July 2012.

“GMA” narrowed its margins with “Today” versus the 2016 May sweep in Adults 25-54 (-8% - 174,000 vs. 189,000).

“GMA” outdelivered CBS’ “This Morning” during the month in Total Viewers (+28%/+913,000), Adults 25-54 (+47%/+440,000) and Adults 18-49 (+52%/+335,000).
