Episode 4: “He Picked the Wrong Girl”

On April 3, 2008 at about 9 PM, Ashley Ware heard a knock on the door of her apartment as she was getting ready to leave for her job as a nurse. She thought the knock might be from a deliveryman, but little did she know, the man on the other side of the door came to kidnap her.

The attacker, later identified as Vincent Degidio, asks to use the phone and says he needs a ride. When Ware says “no,” Degidio flashes his gun and threatens to rape and kill her before forcing her to get in her car with him.

After driving for hours, Ware is finally able to escape and runs to a local auto parts shop. Degidio eventually catches up, robbing the store and holding the employees hostage. Unwilling to give up, Ware physically fights off Degidio who then leads the police on a manhunt in the cold, dark night.
