"This Week" Ratings Report For 2nd Quarter 2016 and Sunday, June 26, 2016

— -- 2nd Quarter 2016:

ABC News’ “This Week with George Stephanopoulos” drew 3.117 million Total Viewers and 885,000 Adults 25-54 during the 2nd quarter 2016, based on Most Current Data from Nielsen Media Research.

For the 3rd consecutive year, “This Week” improved on the year-ago 2nd quarter (2.686 million and 876,000, respectively on 2Q15) in both Total Viewers (+16%) and Adults 25-54 (+1%). In fact, “This Week” saw its most-watched 2nd quarter in 17 years and top Adults 25-54 performance in 8 years– since 2Q99 and 2Q08, respectively. Further, “This Week” has turned in increases on the year-ago quarter in both measures for the past 5 quarters.

“This Week” defeated CBS’ “Face the Nation” (872,000) by 13,000 Adults 25-54, leading the CBS program during the 2nd quarter for the 2nd straight year.

June 26, 2016:

ABC News’ “This Week with George Stephanopoulos” averaged 3.058 million Total Viewers and 889,000 Adults 25-54 on June 26, 2016, based on Live +Same Day Data from Nielsen Media Research. “This Week” beat CBS’ “Face the Nation” (796,000) by its largest news demo advantage (+93,000) in 3 months – since 3/27/16.

“This Week” scored double-digit increases from the previous week (2.687 million and 750,000, respectively, for 6/19/16) in both Total Viewers (+14%) and Adults 25-54 (+19%). In addition, “This Week” was up the most week to week in both measures compared to CBS’ “Face the Nation” (+1%/+2%), NBC’s “Meet the Press” (+2%/+3%) and Fox’s “Fox News Sunday” (+9%/-6%).

“This Week” improved on the year-ago Sunday in Total Viewers (+12% - 3.058 million vs. 2.726 million on 6/28/15).

Season to date, “This Week” leads CBS’ “Face the Nation” by 20,000 Adults 25-54 (944,000 vs. 924,000), beating the CBS program by its largest news demo margin in 8 years – since the 2007-08 season.

“This Week” is improving in both Total Viewers (+15% - 3.262 million vs. 2.828 million) and Adults 25-54 (+8% - 944,000 vs. 877,000) versus its year-ago season averages. In fact, “This Week” is drawing its largest overall audience in 17 years and posting its strongest news demo performance in 7 years – since the 1998-99 and 2008-09 seasons, respectively.
