“GMA” Wins 12th Consecutive Sweep in Total Viewers and 10 Out of Last 11 Among Adults 25-54

“GMA” is #1 for the Week of May 18th in Total Viewers

ABC News’ “Good Morning America” won the May 2015 Sweep in both Total Viewers (5.211 million) and Adults 25-54 (1.851 million), based on Most Current Data from Nielsen Media Research. “GMA’s” victory represented the 3rd year in a row for the ABC morning newscast to win the May Sweep in both Nielsen measures.

Looking at all sweeps, the May 2015 Sweep marked “GMA’s” 12th sweeps win in a row in Total Viewers and its 10th win in the past 11 sweeps in Adults 25-54 (only finishing behind a Winter Olympics-fueled “Today” during the 2014 February Sweep).

“GMA” beat the No. 2-ranked NBC’s “Today” (4.751 million and 1.795 million) by 460,000 Total Viewers and by 56,000 Adults 25-54.

“GMA” led CBS’ “This Morning” during the month in Total Viewers (+44%), Adults 25-54 (+78%) and Adults 18-49 (+74%).

“Good Morning America” ranked No. 1 in Total Viewers (5.117 million) for the week of May 18, 2015, based on Live +Same Day Data from Nielsen Media Research. “GMA” outdelivered NBC’s “Today” (4.756 million) by 361,000 Total Viewers. “GMA” increased its overall viewer lead week to week by +7% (vs. 338,000 for w/o 5/11/15).

Season to date, “GMA” is the No. 1 morning newscast in Total Viewers and Adults 25-54. “GMA” is leading “Today” by 581,000 Total Viewers and by 126,000 Adults 25-54. In fact, “GMA” has increased its season margin over “Today” versus the same point last season in Adults 25-54 (+24% - 126,000 vs. 102,000).

Furthermore, ranking No. 1 for the 3rd-straight season in Total Viewers and Adults 25-54, “GMA” is seeing its widest Adults 25-54 margin over “Today” in 22 years – since the 1992-93 season.

During the week, “GMA” led “CBS This Morning” in Total Viewers (+47%), Adults 25-54 (+76%) and Adults 18-49 (+70%).
