“Nightline” is #1 for 2014-15 Television Season – First Time Winning in New Time Slot

For the Week of September 14th, “Nightline” Draws Largest Audience in 3 Months, Seeing Increases in All Key Demos Week to Week

For the 3rd Quarter, “Nightline” Beats CBS’ “The Late Late Show with James Corden” in that Show’s First Ever 3rd Quarter

2014-15 Season:

ABC News’ “Nightline” ranked No. 1 in Total Viewers (1.593 million) for the 2014-15 season in its 2nd full season in its new time slot, based on Most Current Data from Nielsen Media Research. During its season winning performance, “Nightline” ranked No. 1 in 33 of the 52 weeks of the season.

“Nightline” outdelivered CBS’ average of “The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson”/”The Late Late Show”/”The Talk – After Dark”/”The Late Late Show with James Corden” (1.342 million) by 251,000 and NBC’s “Late Night with Seth Meyers (1.498 million) by 95,000 during the season.

In addition, “Nightline” increased its season margins over CBS compared to its margins of the 2013-14 season of “The Late Show with Craig Ferguson” in all key target demos: Total Viewers (+18% - 251,000 vs. 212,000), Adults 25-54 (+40% - 120,000 vs. 86,000) and Adults 18-49 (+86% - 82,000 vs. 44,000).

Week of September 14, 2015:

ABC News’ “Nightline” averaged 1.442 million Total Viewers, 519,000 Adults 25-54 and 415,000 Adults 18-49 during the week of September 14, 2015, based on Live +Same Day Data from Nielsen Media Research. “Nightline” defeated CBS’ “The Late Late Show with James Corden” (1.227 million, 467,000 and 395,000, respectively) in Total Viewers (+215,000), Adults 25-54 (+52,000) and Adults 18-49 (+20,000).

“Nightline” saw across-the-board increases week to week (1.328 million, 506,000 and 401,000 for w/o 9/7/15): Total Viewers (+9%), Adults 25-54 (+3%) and Adults 18-49 (+3%), drawing its largest overall audience in 3 months – since w/o 6/15/15.

“Nightline” aired the week’s No. 1 telecast in Total Viewers (1.858 million on Monday, 9/14/15), beating every telecast of the week of CBS’ “The Late Late Show with James Corden” and NBC’s “Late Night with Seth Meyers.”

3Q 2015:

ABC News’ “Nightline” averaged 1.387 million Total Viewers, 532,000 Adults 25-54 and 411,000 Adults 18-49 during the 3rd Quarter 2015, based on Most Current Data from Nielsen Media Research. “Nightline” beat CBS’ “The Late Late Show with James Corden” (1.197 million, 455,000 and 368,000, respectively) during the CBS’ program first 3rd quarter in Total Viewers (+190,000), Adults 25-54 (+77,000) and Adults 18-49 (+43,000).
