‘Nightline’ Beats CBS in All Key Demos: Total Viewers, Adults 25-54 and Adults 18-49

Season to Date “Nightline” Leads CBS Across the Board

ABC News’ “Nightline” ranked No. 1 in Total Viewers (1.495 million) during the week of April 18, 2016, based on Live + Same Day Data from Nielsen Media Research. “Nightline” outdelivered CBS’ “The Late Late Show with James Corden” (1.253 million) by 242,000 and NBC’s “Late Night with Seth Meyers” (1.352 million) by 143,000.

In addition, “Nightline” beat the CBS program in Adults 25-54 (+70,000 – 563,000 vs. 493,000) and Adults 18-49 (+30,000 – 422,000 vs. 392,000).

For the 2nd week in a row, “Nightline” was up week to week (1.434 million and 559,000, respectively, on w/o 4/11/16) in Total Viewers (+4%) and Adults 25-54 (+1%), hitting 5-week highs in both measures – since w/o 3/14/16.

“Nightline” held the Top 3 telecasts of the week in Total Viewers with its Thursday (1.721 million), Friday (1.520 million) and Monday (1.483 million) airings, respectively, outdrawing every telecast of the week of CBS’ “The Late Late Show with James Corden” and NBC’s “Late Night with Seth Meyers.”

Season to date, “Nightline” leads CBS’ “The Late Late Show with James Corden” across the board: Total Viewers (+280,000), Adults 25-54 (+99,000) and Adults 18-49 (+50,000).

ABC News’ “Nightline” is anchored by Dan Harris, Juju Chang and Byron Pitts. Roxanna Sherwood is executive producer, and Steven Baker is senior broadcast producer. The program airs weeknights from 12:35-1:05 a.m. EST on the ABC Television Network. Together with “Jimmy Kimmel Live,” “Nightline” is part of ABC’s winning late-night strategy of airing news and entertainment programming.
