“Nightline” is #1 in Total Viewers for 2nd Week in a Row

Season to Date “Nightline” Leads CBS Across the Board

ABC News’ “Nightline” ranked No. 1 in Total Viewers (1.406 million) during the week of December 28, 2015, based on Live +Same Day Data from Nielsen Media Research. Leading for the 2nd week in a row, “Nightline” beat CBS’ “The Late Late Show with James Corden” (1.065 million) by 341,000 and NBC’s “Late Night with Seth Meyers” (1.405 million) by 1,000.

“Nightline” outdelivered the CBS program in Adults 25-54 (+146,000 – 572,000 vs. 426,000) and Adults 18-49 (+87,000 – 429,000 vs. 342,000).

Season to date, “Nightline” leads CBS’ “The Late Late Show with James Corden” across the board: Total Viewers (+349,000), Adults 25-54 (+122,000) and Adults 18-49 (+63,000).

Note: During New Year’s week, ABC’s “Nightline,” CBS’ “The Late Late Show” and NBC’s “Late Night” were coded as specials on Friday. In addition, CBS’ “The Late Late Show” was coded as a special on Thursday. “Nightline” was preempted on Thursday due to “New Year’s Rockin’ Eve.” ABC’s and CBS’ averages are based on 3 days (Mon-Wed), NBC’s averages are based on 4 days (Mon-Thurs).

ABC News’ “Nightline” is anchored by Dan Harris, Juju Chang and Byron Pitts. Roxanna Sherwood is executive producer, and Steven Baker is Senior Broadcast Producer. The program airs weeknights from 12:35-1:05 a.m., ET on the ABC Television Network. Together with “Jimmy Kimmel Live,” “Nightline” is part of ABC’s winning late night strategy of airing news and entertainment programming.
